In the context of "Focus Country" Canada at the internationale tanzmesse nrw 2020, the most comprehensive presentation of contemporary dance from Canada to date would have been presented in Germany. In cooperation with and with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as the governments of British Columbia and Quebec, the internationale tanzmesse nrw provides an insight into the enormous diversity and quality of contemporary dance from Canada through this digital channel. We would like to thank all artists, curators and partner organizations for an inspiring collaboration.
Bringing Canadian Dance to Germany
Focus Country Canada at Tanzmesse 2020 was set to feature more than 20 Canadian dance artists and groups, showcasing the country’s dynamic and diverse cultural landscape. The event was to coincide with Canada’s role as Guest of Honour at the 2020 Frankfurt Book Fair.
As the COVID-19 pandemic prevents us from gathering in-person for this event, the Canada Council for the Arts encourages you to discover the incredible work of the scheduled Canadian dance artists on this website.
