Choreography: Andrea Peña

In this choreographic triad six dancers interact with a machine, an opera singer and a DJ in order to explore the concepts of artistry and artificiality as implicit constructions of our contemporary society. TABLEAU1 presents an artificially driven choreography, an improvisation dictated by a machine-coded-algorithm which dictates the dancers’ movement tasks. The second tableau distorts the mechanisation by presenting a subversion of hierarchies, through an apocalyptic waltz driven by the voice of an opera singer while TABLEAU3 explores the synchronicity of body, mind and artificiality in rave culture.
