Protection of endangered artists: A new protection programme for artists at risk

The new protection programme was initiated by the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) and the Goethe-Institut in order to respond to the increasing restriction of artistic and civil society freedom worldwide. The aim of the programme is to support artists at risk by providing temporary relocation to Germany or third countries. Dance as an international and often eminently political form of expression can provoke authoritarian systems by its very existence. That is why we think it is important to inform about the new protection programme at Tanzmesse 2018.
