a dance routine
Choreography: Katharina Senzenberger & Miriam Rieck
In a dance routine, senzenberger|rieck set out to search for individual-collective moments at the interplay of different dance routines. What emerges is a dance compiled from commercial, contemporary, and internet dances: Directing a gaze; showing gestures and dissolving them; poses are blurring. An image, a sign, a trend. A dance shared by many. Fascinated by the ambiguous potential of community building that digitally circulating choreographies harbour, senzenberger|rieck are dedicated to the learning and appropriating of internet dances, but also to the inevitable transformation that occurs when movements are transferred between bodies and media. Between closeness and distance, a duet is taking shape, directing the attention towards two bodies that are in constant relation to each other. Almost casually, an unexpected place of intimacy emerges.
