Ich heiße Frau Troffea
Choreography: Sergey Shabohin/Igor Shugaleev
Trying to overcome the shock of losing his homeland Belarus, performer and choreographer Igor Shugaleev completely surrenders to the maelstrom of Berlin rave culture. The “autobiographical monoperformance manifesto” is an exploration of the personal experience of traumatic obsession and the tireless search for freedom. Ich heiße Frau Troffea A follows in the footsteps of Frau Troffea, who suddenly began dancing on the streets of Strasbourg one morning in 1518 and could not stop despite being completely exhausted and having bloody feet. When intoxicated by drugs, partygoers experience unimagined forms of freedom of communication and movement: in ecstasy, they lose the quality of movement, only to find it again. At once physical and poetic, an intense physical ceremony unfolds that tells the story of an entire country’s illness and the obsessive search for healing through freedom.
