Choreography: Tim Behren
In this extraordinary pas de deux, two performers navigate human patterns of encounter and intimacy. The piece plays with gestures of invitation, confrontation and provocation. It is a duet in which contemporary circus and dance keep pace with each other. The “pas de deux” usually marks the climax and signature of a piece in the classical sense. In Blueprint, Overhead Project literally turns existing ideas of the danced duo on its head. The two virtuosos test the limits of their physical strength to the point of exhaustion and skilfully direct our gaze through the stage space.
