Fields of Tender- a durational immersive performance for babies and disabled children

Choreography: Dalija Acin Thelander

Choreographer Dalija Acin Thelander will give an insight into her practice, using the durational format Fields of Tender as a starting point. The work is a durational performance of 3-4 hours, given once or twice per day, offering the audience the opportunity to enjoy the installation on their own terms – during the 6 hours running time. This format acknowledges and considers the heterogeneous nature of the audience and utterly respects the individual needs of both babies and adults, providing the conditions for active exploration, social exchange, exhilaration, intimate moments, falling asleep, etc. Fields of Tender invites audiences to enjoy and explore an imaginary world inspired by tenderness, affection and love. The work was created during Dalija Acin Thelander’s three-year academic research project Towards sensuous ecologies, Rethinking ableism in choreographic and movement practices.
