her body as words

Choreography: Peggy Baker

her body as words is an exploration and explosion of female identity and physicality. For this installation, choreographer Peggy Baker has asked a group of women to bring forward current statements of identity expressed in movement and in words. The choreography arose from conversations around the philosophy, worldview, and lived experience of each dancer and touches on themes of race, gender expression, sexual orientation, sexual appetite, pregnancy, miscarriage, motherhood, disability, physical labour, and aging.
