Choreography: Edna Jaime

“I’m a dancer, my body is my fighting instrument!”, states choreographer and performer Edna Jaime in her energetic solo The Good Fight. Accompanied by Mozambican traditional percussionist Francisco Macuvele, she throws her body into the fight for social justice,. Together, they focus on topics such as workers’ rights, government corruption, redistribution of money, relationship of the body to the state with an urgent reflection through a choreographic aesthetic that is built on the basis of traditional rhythms and movements. As a campaigner for the good fight, Edna Jaime embodies warfare through different tools, primarily her own movement.
