Choreography: Diego Tortelli

What defines the relationship between voice, body and identity – and what are their opposites? The opposite of voice is silence or dysphonia. The opposite of virtuosic body is the static. And the opposite of identity is the loss of peculiarity. Diego Tortelli’s work Fo:No is inspired by a personal experience: a member of his family had various vocal cord surgeries. Diego Tortelli experienced the changes in the sounds and tones of his relative’s voice step by step, witnessing how these changes also changed his posture, his interactions with others and his identity.
