In 2016 choreographer Guilherme Miotto met Nasser el Jackson and immediately fell for Nasser’s extraordinary personality and movement quality - he decided to create a full-length solo for this balling wizard from Tilburg slash street football ambassador for the Dutch football association. Nasser is a performer who stands out within a contemporary dance context. At first glance he resembles a typical Moroccan boy, and none of the stereotypical associations refer to his being a dancer. His presence in the theatre creates a lively friction. Simple questions such as ‘who is Nasser’ and ‘who are we?’ reveal how this young man encourages us to reconsider the values we take for granted.
