Choreography: Wataru Kitao

Originally created as a group work for 24 female dancers, choreographer Wataru Kitao has adapted his work UMU to a solo. In this work he unites elements of Hip-Hop as well as classical Butoh in order to explore three of the many meanings of the Japanese word UMU: Giving birth, forming pus as well as existence and non-existence.
