Women’s Voices in Choreography

In cooperation with American Dance Abroad, Tanzmesse presents a T-Talk exploring the challenges faced by female choreographers, including limited opportunities to advance to leadership positions, when compared to males in the field. One speculation on this imbalance is that women’s training appears as part of a unified group, whereas the scarcer male dancers are encouraged to be individuals. The female US choreographers programmed in the Tanzmesse Festival and other delegates will discuss their own experiences, through this lens.
