Choreography: Antonio Ruz

Double Bach is a collaborative project between choreographer Antonio Ruz and musician Pablo Martín Caminero. Caminero’s original idea was in fact to adapt the Suites for cello No 1 and 2 by J.S. Bach for the double bass, bringing together both the tonality and technique (pizzicato instead of the bow). Now fused with ballerina Melania Olcina’s dancing, Double Bach presents an intimate indoor space in which the two artists share and dialog from a state of non-thinking and emptiness: a shared solitude, a desert-ocean, a blank canvas where the music, movement and light (or the absence thereof) evoke fragility, profundity and imbalance. It is the return to simplicity.
