Choreography: HaRaKa

The Arab Dance Caravan has been initiated and curated by the Egyptian HaRaKA, the outreach project of the Adham Hafez Company. It presents contemporary waves in the Arab dance world and links them with modern social trends and current aesthetic tendencies. The artists at the open studio will be presenting different approaches to choreography in excerpts from their works. Artistic and political positions will be considered. How does a generation of artists express itself when their everyday life is dominated by political upheavals and insecurity? This is a continuing process which picks up current discourses in dance and performances, deconstructs them and illuminates them anew.
