Dance has a lively and extensive season of professional gatherings scheduled around the world. Meeting colleagues has become a critical ingredient contributing to greater cultural exchange among dance people worldwide. But, are we reaching the point where there are too many? Do we only talk to the same people but in different geographical settings? Will we reach a point of diminishing returns? Can a dance scene that is perpetually short of resources afford the human and financial costs of so many gatherings?
