Choreography: Olivier Dubois
Suggestive growls and Wagnerian sounds. A man emerges from a black cube made up of a teeming mass of dancers, followed by woman. They wrestle with elementary forces of nature like ghosts from the myth of Prometheus. The dancers form archaic landscapes and suffer ecstatic nightmares. “For Beauty is nothing but the beginning of terror” whispers Rainer Maria Rilke in his Duino Elegies, a phrase which Olivier Dubois uses as his background concept. Once again the Enfant terrible of French dance spares his audience nothing.
